Florida Officer Sues Department for Lost Pay, Alleged Harassment

An officer with the Orlando Police Department has filed a lawsuit against the agency alleging that the department engages in a "systematic pattern of harassment" against disabled female officers placed on limited duty.

According to WKMG-TV , Dolores Bracero received an injury to her wrist several years ago that has kept her off the streets, and after being denied disability benefits was fired from the department.

Medical records indicate that Bracero was diagnosed with a closed forced flexion injury of the right wrist. She underwent surgery but the pain and swelling have continued for the last four years.

However, another doctor examined her and determined that she is physically capable of "returning to work full duty with no restrictions."
