Three officers with the San Jose (CA) Police Department were injured when an angry crowd confronted them as they investigated reports of a group of people consuming alcohol in a parking lot early Saturday morning.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, a large crowd approached the officers attempting to clear the lot and aggressively interfered with their duties.
Officers saw a man running and holding a firearm and began a foot pursuit. As officers were subduing the subject, another man began to interfere, forcibly trying to pull the suspect from the grasp of officers.
Following the confrontation three officers were treated for minor injuries.
Several individuals were arrested and now face charges of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and gun possession.
