An off-duty police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department died when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

An off-duty police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department died when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

According to CBS News, 38-year-old Alexis Montanez, a 17-year veteran sustained internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
