An officer with the St. Ann (MO) Police Department was injured while responding to aid in the vehicle pursuit of a car reported stolen Tuesday, police said at a news conference.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police said the officer—whose name has not yet been released—swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.
The officer—a five-year veteran with the agency—was transported to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Col. Charles Thal of the St. Ann Police Department. The officer's condition was not immediately made available.
