NYPD Officer Wounded, Gunman Killed in Gunfight

A female officer with the New York Police Department was shot in the wrist during a gunfight on Staten Island on Tuesday.

A female officer with the New York Police Department was shot in the wrist during a gunfight on Staten Island on Tuesday.

According to CBS News, police were responding to a domestic violence call on Staten Island when gunfire broke out.

The gunman—identified as 39-year-old Gregory Edwards—was fatally wounded in the exchange.

The wounded 30-year-old officer—whose name has not been released—was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her wounds.
