An officer with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department who had been facing multiple lewdness charges died by suicide in a park in neighboring Henderson, NV.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, 27-year-old Matthew Terry had been charged with a child younger than 14, four counts of attempted lewdness, five counts of child abuse, one count of luring children through the use of a computer, and one count of open and gross lewdness.
Prosecutors believe that Terry engaged in acts with boys dating to at least 2009.
Terry was free on $122,000 bail at the time of his death. His next court date was set for March 18, 2020.
