Officers with the Baltimore Police Department arrested two men in connection with the shooting of Sgt. Isaac Carrington outside his home last month.

According to the Baltimore Sun , the two men—wearing masks at the time of the incident—shot the off-duty sergeant as he spoke with a neighbor.

The gunmen—identified as 25-year-old Karon Foster and 18-year-old Rashaud Nesmith—fled the scene and were the subjects of a massive manhunt for several weeks.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Baltimore City Police Commissioner Michael Harrison announced that they had been apprehended.

Both face multiple counts of Attempted First and Second Degree murder as well as robbery, assault, and gun charges.

In charging documents, detectives wrote that surveillance camera footage, cellphone records and fingerprints linked Foster and Nesmith to the robbery and attack on Carrington. The two men robbed the police sergeant of his gun and cellphone, detectives wrote.

Paramedics rushed Carrington to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He was in critical condition and by morning doctors had performed emergency surgery. He has since been released from the hospital.
