Tennessee Officer Recovering After Being Struck by Car

An officer with the Chattanooga Police Department suffered an injury to the hand when the driver of a vehicle reportedly accelerated and struck the officer before crashing into a tree and a utility pole.

An officer with the Chattanooga Police Department suffered an injury to the hand when the driver of a vehicle reportedly accelerated and struck the officer before crashing into a tree and a utility pole.

According to ABC News, after the incident happened in the early morning hours on Monday the suspect fled on foot and has not yet been apprehended.

The officer reportedly underwent x-rays at a nearby hospital.
