Officers with the Denver Police Department fatally shot an individual who stole a patrol vehicle and pointed a weapon at people, officials report.
According to the Denver Channel, police say the officer was involved in a foot pursuit with the subject—whose name has not yet been released—when the suspect doubled back and jumped in the officer's squad car.
Other officers gave chase until the suspect stopped. Gunfire then erupted and the suspect was struck and killed.
