A former officer with the Miami-Dade Police Department was found dead in his Sunrise home on Friday, and investigators are offering a reward of $3,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
According to WPLG-TV, 51-year-old Johnnie Ridgeway was reportedly shot in his bed, presumably as he slept. There was no evidence of forced entry, and a relative—who has not been identified—who lived with him was not in the home at the time Ridgeway's body was discovered.
Ridgeway served with the Miami-Dade Police Department from 1995 to 1999.
