Newly Sworn Officer Proposes to Girlfriend Following Ceremony

Immediately following the swearing-in ceremony for a new batch of officers with the Myrtle Beach (SC) Police Department Friday, the last officer to take the oath of service and to have his badge pinned to his chest turned to his girlfriend, got on one knee, and proposed marriage.

According to ABC News, Officer Dunea Lockwood had arranged the moment with the help of his supervisor, his academy mates, and the Chief Amy Prock.

Chief Prock arranged for confetti to be launched after Lockwood popped the big question.

"We just wanted to make this a family affair," Chief Prock said.
