Members of the community in Huntsville, AL, gathered on Sunday evening for a candlelight vigil to honor Officer Bill Clardy III, who was killed in the line of duty on Friday.
According to WHNT-TV, the event was held at the Huntsville Police Department Fallen Officers Memorial Statue in front of the agency's main headquarters building.
Huntsville PD Chief Mark McMurray, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, members of The Thin Line Support, and members of the community attended the event.

Clardy was participating in a narcotics operation with the HIDTA Gulf Coast Task Force when he was shot and killed. Suspected gunman LaJeromeny Latez Brown now faces a capital murder charge.
