An officer with the Tampa (FL) Police Department was injured while investigating an alarm call at a local auto parts store early Monday morning.
According to Spectrum News, Officer Delaney Troop, 23, had responded to an alarm call when a suspected burglar—identified as Leonard Henry—threw a large pair of channel-lock pliers at her, striking her in the face.
Troop then took up a perimeter position and called for backup while the assailant remained inside the building.
Responding officers deployed a K-9 and the suspect was found and taken into custody.
Officer Troop was transported to a nearby hospital where she received eight stitches over her left eye.
