The man convicted of murdering Officer Justin Terney of the Tecumseh (OK) Police Department during a 2017 traffic stop has been sentenced to death.
According to News 4, Byron Shepard told Terney that his name was James Bishop because he had warrants for stealing a pickup truck from an oil drilling company.
As Shepard was speaking with Terney, he drew a weapon and opened fire. Terney returned fire striking the gunman.
Both men were transported to a nearby hospital, where Terney was pronounced dead.
