An Arkansas judge has ruled that he will not stay an earlier decision to reinstate an officer who had been fired following the fatal shooting of Bradley Blackshire during a traffic stop in February of last year.

According to ABC News, Pulaski County Circuit Judge Tim Fox denied the city of Little Rock's request to stay his order regarding the reinstatement of Officer Charles Starks, who fired the fatal shots as Blackshire attempted to flee the stop, placing Starks in danger of being struck by the moving vehicle.  

Judge Fox ruled that Starks violated the agency's use-of-force policy prohibiting officers from voluntarily placing themselves in front of an oncoming vehicle, but said also that a 30-day suspension and reduction in salary to an entry-level officer are more appropriate sanctions than all-out firing.
