An officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department who was struck by gunfire during a traffic stop over the weekend has been released from the hospital even as the search for the man who shot him continues.
According to CBS News , the officer called for backup and waited to approach the car until that backup arrived. As the two officers neared the vehicle, the driver—identified as 35-year-old Randy Bishop—opened fire, striking Officer Beau Becker, a four-year veteran of the department.
