An officer retiring from the Quincy (MA) Police Department received a standing ovation from his now-former colleagues as he walked out of the agency's headquarters building on Thursday afternoon.
According to WHDH-TV, officers and civilians stood outside the building and cheered Officer Mike Brandolini for his many years of service to the community as he walked with his family to his personally owned vehicle.
The agency posted a short video of the event on social media, which has been viewed more than 1,000 times.
The agency said, "Congratulations to Officer Mike Brandolini on his retirement today! If you frequent the Quincy Square area, own a business there, or just stopped to visit, chances are you’ve talked to him. We wish him the very best!"
