Florida Officer Honored for Helping Prevent Police Suicide

An officer with the Tallahassee Police Department was honored at a ceremony at the Florida Cabinet on Tuesday for his efforts to help police officers in distress seek help and prevent suicides.

According to CBS News, Sean Wyman was presented with the Attorney General's "Back the Blue" award.

The agency posted on Facebook, "What an amazing morning! Officer Sean Wyman was honored for his work with first responders and mental health. Officer Wyman is the recipient of the Florida Attorney General’s ‘Back the Blue’ award presented during the State of Florida Cabinet Meeting."

The social media post concluded, "Officer Wyman trains first responders & focuses on mental health fitness as a priority. He is the author of a book called 'Going Beyond the Call: Mental Health Fitness for Public Safety Professionals.' Way to go Sean! We are so proud of you!"
