Pennsylvania Officer Wounded, Suspect Dead in Traffic Stop Gunfight

An officer with the Pittsburgh Police Department was wounded and a subject was left dead after a gunfight broke out during a traffic stop on Thursday evening.

An officer with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police was wounded and a subject was left dead after a gunfight broke out during a traffic stop on Thursday evening.

According to WTAE-TV, the gunman—identified as 25-year-old Elijah Jamaal Brewer—emerged from his vehicle with a weapon after the officer stopped him in the city's East Allegheny neighborhood.

The officer was shot in the hip and transported to a nearby hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
