Connecticut Officer Pinned Between Suspect Vehicle and Patrol Car

An officer with the Suffield (CT) Police Department was injured during a traffic stop when he was pinned between his patrol vehicle and another automobile during a traffic stop on Wednesday evening.

An officer with the Suffield (CT) Police Department was injured during a traffic stop when he was pinned between his patrol vehicle and another automobile during a traffic stop on Wednesday evening.

The agency said on Facebook that the officer—whose name has not been released—initiated a traffic stop after a short, slow-speed vehicle pursuit.

The department said that the officer received minor injuries as he was attempting to take the motorist into custody.

The social media post concluded, "The suspect was charged with Assault of a Police Officer, Criminal Mischief 1st, Interfering with a Police Officer, Engaging Police in Pursuit, Operating Under the Influence, Refusal to Submit to Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane."

The suspect—whose name has not been released—was held on a $75,000 bond pending court appearance.
