Federal Prisons Suspend Visitations to Inmates Due to Coronavirus

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has temporarily suspended visitation to inmates in all 122 federal correctional facilities across the country.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has temporarily suspended visitation to inmates in all 122 federal correctional facilities across the country.

According to ABC News, the BOP made the decision to stop visitation to more than 175,000 inmates in BOP custody due to concerns over the rapid spread of COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus).

BOP has also determined that staff members who work in areas with "sustained community transmission" are subject to enhanced health screenings.
