Police in Kansas City, MO, are investigating a shooting involving an off-duty officer who told investigators he shot his neighbor with an accidental discharge.
According to the Associated Press, the incident occurred early Monday morning, as the off-duty officer called for assistance after having accidentally wounded his neighbor.
The officer—a 24-year veteran of the agency—is now on administrative leave.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital in stable condition.
