An officer with the Henderson (NV) Police Department was wounded and a gunman killed in an armed confrontation in a residential neighborhood on Sunday night.
According to KLAS police were called to respond to a man appearing to be intoxicated and armed with a gun and involved in a family disturbance.
Henderson Police say that upon arrival, the man was uncooperative and refused commands of the arriving officers.
Henderson Police Lieutenant Kirk Moore told reporters that at some point during the encounter, the male suspect produced a firearm, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.
Police have not released the names of the officer or the man who was killed.
