A man who spat in a police officer's face in Croydon Crown Court in south London and lied about having Coronavirus said he did it because he was "stressed."
According to Newsweek, the man—identified as 23-year-old Karan Singh—has been sentenced to four months in jail after he pleaded guilty to three counts of assault on an emergency worker, possession of cannabis, and use of threatening or abusive words or behavior.
The assault on the officer began with a traffic stop during which the officer observed the smell of cannabis in the car. As he continued to investigate, Singh reportedly became belligerent, hurling insults and spit at the officer.
