California Officer Arrested for Off-Duty Shooting of Fellow Officer

An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of shooting and wounding a fellow officer while they were off-duty at a Southern California recreation area.

An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of shooting and wounding a fellow officer while they were off-duty at a Southern California recreation area.

According to ABC News, upon arrival at the recreation area near Barstow, they found a 48-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The man—whose identity was not immediately released—was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. He is listed in stable condition and is expected to survive.

The name of the officer arrested has also not yet been released. Undisclosed charges are pending.
