A man threw gasoline on an officer with the Burlington (NC) Police Department and stabbed his K-9 partner as they responded to reports that the man had stabbed his wife multiple times, police say.
According to WSOC-TV, the incident occurred late Thursday night with responding officers discovering a woman suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds at the scene.
The suspect—identified as Ali Asghari Sandi—reportedly threw gasoline on the officers and charged them with a knife.
Officers were able to subdue him but one officer suffered non-life threatening injuries.
K-9 "Talon" was also treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Charges against Sandi are pending.
