An officer with the Houston Police Department was injured in a vehicle collision
According to the Houston Chronicle, the officer was on a state highway near an interstate interchange when the driver of a work van rear-ended the officer's patrol vehicle.
Responding EMS personnel placed a neck brace on the officer before loading him into an ambulance to be transported to a nearby hospital.
The officer—whose name has not been released—is expected to be okay.
The driver of the work vehicle has been issued a citation for failing to control speed.
