A deputy with the Johnson County (MO) Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a missing toddler on Monday and located the two-year-old girl near a pond, safely delivering her back to her family unharmed.

The agency said on Facebook that within a few minutes of receiving the call of the missing child, Corporal Nicole Collins "arrived on scene and observed a large pond several hundred yards north of the residence and immediately inquired from the mother whether or not the pond had been checked and she was told it had not."

The social media post continued to say that Corporal Collins went to the pond and observed the child approximately ten to fifteen feet from the bank with water up to the child’s neck.

Corporal Collins determined that the child was stuck in the mud and went into the pond and rescued her.

The child is said to be in good condition.
