An officer with the Philadelphia Police Department was injured early Friday morning when the patrol vehicle they were driving was struck by another car at an intersection in North Philadelphia.

An officer with the Philadelphia Police Department was injured early Friday morning when the patrol vehicle they were driving was struck by another car at an intersection in North Philadelphia.

According to WPVI-TV, the officer—whose name has not been released—was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity and the condition of the other driver was not made available to reporters.

The officer is expected to fully recover.
