An officer with the Kansas City (MO) Police Department was shot while responding to reports of an armed robbery suspect boarding a city bus on Thursday.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the bus driver called police after the suspect in a robbery she had just witnessed boarded her bus, said Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The driver then slowed her bus down so police could get on the bus before the suspect exited.
The suspect shot a police officer and then shot the bus driver.
Both reportedly were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The condition of the third person shot has not been released.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. Charges are pending.
