According to NBC News, a woman called 911 with information that her son had a gun and was threatening to shoot people at a residence.
Three police agencies—Reno Police, Springtown Police, and the Parker County Sheriff's Department—responded to the call.
The suspect reportedly opened fire on responding officers, striking one Reno officer in the arm—a wound considered to be non-life-threatening.
A Parker County Sheriff's deputy was shot multiple times and was transported via helicopter to a nearby hospital. The wounded deputy was reportedly treated and released.
Another bullet struck a second officer's TASER holster, which prevented the round from striking the officer himself.
Texas Rangers have taken over the investigation.
At least one deceased person is reportedly in the ruins of the house, which burned to the ground.
