A crowd of several dozen people gathered in front of the City Council Chambers in the city of Chico, CA, to show support for law enforcement on Saturday morning.
According to the Chico Enterprise-Record, the gathering was dubbed the “Back the Blue Rally” and was held in response to widespread anti-police protests across the country following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
"We believe that our Police Department has integrity; they care about this community; we care about them, and we want to see everyone safe," said Suzanne Brayton of Chico.
Officers with the Chico Police Department drove by the group with emergency lights illuminated as people at the gathering held signs bearing "Blue Lives Matter" and "Defend the Police."
