3 Chicago Officers Shot by Carjacking Suspect, Gunman Also Wounded

The officers with the Chicago Police Department were shot early Thursday morning by a carjacking suspect. The subject was also shot in the exchange, and two other officers were injured while attempting to take the man into custody.

According to WLS News , as officers were arresting the subject Thursday morning the man was able to produce a gun and fire several shots at the arresting officers.

The officers who were struck were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of their gunshot wounds.

The suspect was also struck by gunfire. His name and condition have not been released.
