Illinois Trooper Seriously Injured During Crash Response
An Illinois State Police trooper was seriously injured and airlifted from the scene Monday morning after his vehicle was struck on Interstate 55 in Will County.

An Illinois State Police trooper was seriously injured and airlifted from the scene Monday morning after his vehicle was struck on Interstate 55 in Will County.
The state police said on Facebook that the trooper was in his patrol vehicle with the emergency lights activated "in order to assist with directing traffic" when the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2010 Cadillac.
The driver of the Cadillac was transported to a local hospital with what the state police described as minor injuries.
