Video: Phoenix Officers Save Man from Burning SUV

Officers Rudy Castillo and Joel Kaminsky are seen in the video running toward the SUV as flames were engulfing it. The 55-year-old man inside is believed to have had a medical issue that caused him to swerve off the road crash.

On Monday, the Phoenix Police Department released bodycam footage showing the dramatic rescue of a man trapped in a burning SUV. The incident occurred in the early morning of March 25.

Officers Rudy Castillo and Joel Kaminsky are seen in the video running toward the SUV as flames were engulfing it. The 55-year-old man inside is believed to have had a medical issue that caused him to swerve off the road crash.

Castillo and Kaminsky, each with 20 years of service in the department, were nearby when they got the call.  

“I looked over at [Castillo] and said, 'we’re gonna be the first one’s there,'” Kaminsky told News12.
