MN Tribal Officer Shot and Killed Responding to Suicidal Subject Call
Officials say 37-year-old Officer Ryan Bialke, a native of Buffalo, Minnesota, was shot to death by a suspect at a home in Redby that possibly had children inside. That suspect allegedly fired upon officers as they arrived, hitting Bialke.
An officer with the Red Lake (MN) Police Department was shot and killed Tuesday morning responding to a call about a suicidal man.
Officials say 37-year-old Ryan Bialke, a native of Buffalo, Minnesota, was shot to death by a suspect at a home in Redby that possibly had children inside. That suspect allegedly fired upon officers as they arrived, hitting Bialke.

He was rushed to the Indian Health Services Hospital, where he died.
Bialke joined the Red Lake Nation Police Department in 2014 and is survived by his wife and four children, KNSI Radio reports.
The suspect is in custody.
WCCO reports federal charges are expected in the next few days for the suspect. The FBI and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are assisting Red Lake police with the investigation.
