A New York State Police Trooper died while on marine duty on Great Sacandaga Lake Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 4 pm at the boat launch in Fulton County, Trooper Monda went into the water and did not resurface.

A New York State Police Trooper died while on marine duty on Great Sacandaga Lake Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 4 pm at the boat launch in Fulton County, Trooper Monda went into the water and did not resurface.
Trooper Monda was pulled out of the lake and transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital where he died.
Trooper Monda joined the State Police in September 2002 and served for 18 years.
Trooper Monda served most of his career in Troop G. He was assigned to Troop B for nearly a year following field training, before returning to Troop G. His last assignment was SP Princetown.
Trooper Monda, 45, is survived by his fiancee, and his mother and father.
The cause of Trooper Monda's death is under investigation.
