Slain DEA Agent Identified, Details of AZ Amtrak Shootout Revealed

The agents and officer were part of a southern Arizona drug interdiction team, Counter Narcotics Alliances. They reportedly boarded the train at 7:53 a.m. The shootout began at 8 a.m.

The DEA agent killed in a shootout on an Amtrak passenger train in Tucson Monday has been identified by sources in federal law enforcement, KOLD reports.

The slain agent is reportedly Group Supervisor Mike Garbo.

A second DEA agent and a Tucson officer were wounded in the gunfight. The wounded DEA agent is reportedly in critical condition. The wounded Tucson officer is in stable condition, KVOA reports.

One suspect was killed. The other is in custody.
