A suspect is dead after allegedly firing at four officers in downtown Silver Spring, MD, early Wednesday morning.

According to Montgomery County police, officers responded to a shooting call at Sweet Sweet Kitchen around 4:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, WJLA reports.

Police issued a lookout for the suspect vehicle, a white Mercedes-Benz, based on the information given by an off-duty officer who heard the initial shooting. He then sent that information to officers on duty. When the four on-duty officers located that vehicle nearby, they attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
