Two St. Louis police officers were rushed to a local hospital Wednesday afternoon after being shot in Ferguson.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police Chief Jon Hayden, Jr. said one officer was hit in the abdomen and is in very critical condition, FOX2 reported. The other officer was hit in the leg. Hayden asked the public to pray for the officers.
Hayden told the St. Louis Post Dispatch the officers had followed a car connected to a homicide to Ferguson. When they approached the vehicle, someone inside fired shots, Hayden said. The chief said he did not yet know if the officers returned fire, but four occupants of the shooter's car were in custody Wednesday, Hayden said.
