A Kentucky state trooper was shot and wounded Friday in a Cynthiana trailer park. No information has been released about what led up to the attack.

The trooper was shot six times, three of which were stopped by his bullet-resistant vest, the other rounds struck his taser, radio, and a part of his body.

According to a statement from the Kentucky State Police, the trooper was shot six times, three of which were stopped by his bullet-resistant vest, the other rounds struck his taser, radio, and a part of his body, Fox 56 reports.
The suspect is reportedly 21-year old Leequan T. Taylor. He was taken into custody by combined efforts of the Lexington Police Department, The Department of Fish and Wildlife, The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, The United States Secret Service, and the University of Kentucky Police Department.
Taylor faces charges for first-degree assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and attempted murder of a police officer. According to Bourbon County Jailer Sheila Grant, Taylor’s bond has been set at $1 million.
The trooper was treated at Harrison County Hospital, then at the UK Albert Chandler Hospital, where he was released Saturday.
