Police responded to a call about a possible domestic disturbance around 4 a.m. Friday morning outside Philadelphia and witnessed a machete-wielding man attempting to dismember the body of a deceased female.
Officers responded to an apartment in Clifton Heights and knocked on the door, but no one answered. That’s when police say one of the officers noticed a light on in the apartment and witnessed a man in the rear bedroom, FOX29 reported. According to police, one of the officers saw a man attempting to dismember a female body that had been decapitated.
Two officers held suspect Nicholas Scurria, 32, at gunpoint while additional officers arrived to force entry into the apartment and take him into custody.
Police say Scurria admitted to attempting to get rid of his former girlfriend’s body by partially dismembering it.
