A Wheat Ridge (CO) Police Department officer was stabbed multiple times at an RV park early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened when officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle that had damaged a fence in the area at 1 a.m.

One officer was stabbed several times by a suspect and taken to the hospital. The officer underwent surgery Wednesday morning. He is recovering at the hospital with his family, police told KDVR.
The officer has been identified as Allan Fischer, a nearly 20-year veteran of the department. Wheat Ridge PD tweeted that his family is asking for privacy during his recovery time at the hospital.
The suspect has been identified as Andre Jones, 29. Police said the suspect was driving a stolen U-Haul.
