2 Canadian Officers Fatally Shot Responding to Disturbance

The Special Investigations Unit said there was an exchange of gunfire between a 23-year-old man and two officers about 8 p.m.

Two South Simcoe, Ontario, police officers were shot and killed Tuesday night responding to a disturbance call at a home.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) told CP24 there was an exchange of gunfire between a 23-year-old man and two officers about 8 p.m.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, the SIU said.

One officer died in a hospital in Barrie.

The second officer was airlifted to a Toronto trauma center where he died.
