A Harper County, OK, deputy sheriff was shot Thanksgiving morning while responding to a call that reported a man armed with a shotgun.
At around 6:30 a.m., deputies responded to an address where a man attempted to enter the location armed with a shotgun, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
The man left on foot and deputies encountered him at a nearby intersection. He fired on the deputies, striking one. Deputies returned fire on the subject, reports KOKO News.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the suspect was deceased at the scene and one deputy was transported to OU Trauma Center in stable condition.
