A man who pointed a rifle at an officer inside a secure Rialto (CA) Police Department parking area was shot by police Monday afternoon.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the station's lot where only police vehicles are allowed, officials said.
According to authorities, the suspect was in a black Dodge Charger and followed a police officer unnoticed into the lot as the gate opened. He got out of his car holding an AR-style rifle.
Officials said the suspect raised the rifle at an officer a second time and was shot multiple times by police.
The suspect was taken into custody and treated by paramedics. His condition was not immediately available, Fox 11 reports.
