A Fountain, CO, police officer was critically injured Thursday night after falling about 30 feet off a bridge while trying to arrest a suspect.
It happened after a high-speed chase, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The officer was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. On Friday morning, the Fountain Police Department provided an update that the officer was in stable but critical condition following the initial CT scans. The officer is resting with his family at his side, KDVR reports.
Police said three suspects were in custody, at least one of whom was suspected of multiple felonies, and they were in a stolen vehicle before the multi-agency police chase began just before 8 p.m.
