POLICE-TREXPO East first response training conference and expo will take place Aug. 17-20 in Chantilly, Va. The event will feature a keynote address on the Islamic terrorist threat, a panel on U.S. border threats, classes taught by experts in close-quarter combat and law enforcement tactics and techniques, and a world-class exposition of the latest law enforcement products and technologies. Additionally, qualified professionals will benefit from free hands-on weapons testing.

Steven Emerson, executive director of The Investigative Project on Terrorism, will give a keynote presentation on "The Islamic Terrorist Threat: Violent and Stealth Jihad" Thursday Aug. 19, 0800-1000 hours.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism is a non-profit organization that serves as one of the world's largest storehouses of archival data and intelligence on Islamic and Middle Eastern terrorist groups. Through his extensive expertise, Steven Emerson and his staff frequently provide briefings to U.S. government and law enforcement agencies, members of Congress, and congressional committees on terrorist financing and operational networks of the worldwide Islamic militant spectrum.

Keynote Panel: U.S. Border Threats Briefing

On Wednesday Aug. 18, 0800-1000 hours, a panel of experts will address the "unholy trinity" of the alliance of jihadists, drug cartels, and American street gangs along the United States' southern border. This threat represents the most credible target of attack to the U.S., its vulnerable underbelly.

This eye-opening debrief will focus on issues that impact every law enforcement official and American citizen. Learn about American International gangs, the vulnerability of American youth, and get an inside look at the drug wars, drug and human trafficking cartels, the occult worship of the Mexican underworld, Mexican military incursions into the U.S., the kidnapping epidemic, the missing on both sides of the border, and the alarming asylum crisis.

Featured topics for classes during the conference include: defensive tactics, domestic terrorism, tactical operations, executive protection, officer safety and patrol tactics, and tactical medicine.

Range Session

This year's free POLICE-TREXPO East Range Event will be held at a new location on Aug. 20, 0900-1400 hours. Also new this year, transportation will be provided from the convention center in Chantilly to the Silver Eagle Group facility. Attendees will have the opportunity to view demonstrations and experience some trigger time with some of the most advanced law enforcement products and firearms, including subguns, less-lethal weapons, and suppressors. Lunch is included.
