Illinois Trooper Dies After On-Duty Medical Emergency

Lt. Rich Kozik, 58, of Mokena, died Tuesday following a medical emergency while on duty. He co-founded the Tinley Wish charity in 1996, worked toward establishing a memorial for state troopers killed in the line of duty and was a staunch advocate for motorcycle safety.

Around 2:30 Saturday afternoon Ogle escaped Montgomery Police custody. Charleston Police were called in to help catch Ogle. Westerville officers Eric Joering, 39, and Anthony Morelli, 54, were killed shortly after noon Saturday in this normally quiet suburb while responding to a 911 hang-up call.
