Louisiana Officers "Mend Fences" With Community Both Literally and Figuratively

Officers with the Baton Rouge (LA) Police Department were joined by members of the community in an effort to rebuild the fence surrounding the fourth district precinct.

The agency said on Facebook that the event was a "prime example of mending fences both mentally and physically to build stronger bonds between law enforcement and the community."

Materials from the fence that used to surround the precinct will be recycled—to the extent possible—and used at other locations such as youth parks.
